This is a very rare, tiny Victor cast-iron fire safe. Built in the late 1800's, it is in very good shape with the original paint, lettering, scrollwork, striping and interior. It has 3 of the 4 original hinge finials and the original lock, dial and boltwork is intact. This safe has never been drilled or forced open so it is a beautiful example of early craftmanship that has survived for over a century.
We have serviced the lock and boltwork to ensure that it is in great working order but we have done no restoration work at all to this safe. The great thing about these little antique safes it that they are small enough to transport easily, making them perfect for use as furniture (the latest craze) or they can be restored to their original paint scheme without a lot of effort.
It measures a tiny 18" deep x 18" wide x 29" height with steel wheels. I would estimate the weight at between 200 to 300 lbs.
The price on this safe was $995.00 but is now on sale for only $600.00.
